Matthew Libby's suspense thriller Data will make its New York stage premiere Off-Broadway at the Lucille Lortel Theatre beginning January 9, 2026, officially opening an 11-week limited engagement January 25. Tyne Rafaeli (Weather Girl) will direct.
Starring will be Karan Brar (Jessie) as Maneesh, Brandon Flynn (13 Reasons Why) as Jonah, Sophia Lillis (It) as Riley, and Justin H. Min (The Umbrella Academy) as Alex. Casting is by Taylor Williams.
Libby's play explores the darkest ambitions of Silicon Valley, centering on a young programmer who learns his algorithm is the centerpiece of a massive AI surveillance project. The work premiered as a digital offering via Atlanta's Alliance Theatre in 2021, making a live stage debut at Arena Stage in Washington, D.C. last year.
